Bridging closed and dissipative discrete time crystals in spin systems with infinite-range interactions

We elucidate the role that dissipation in a bosonic channel plays prevalence and stability of time crystals (TCs) periodically driven spin-boson system described by Dicke model. Here, bosons are represented photons, they mediate infinite-range interactions between spin systems. For strong dissipation, we study dynamics using an effective atom-only description closed Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick By mapping out phase diagrams for varying strengths, ranging from zero to infinitely strong, demonstrate area diagram, where TC exists, grows with strength but only up optimal point, beyond which most TCs become unstable. find both closed-system dissipative regimes, shown be more robust against random noise drive, weakly affected choice initial state. present finite-sized behaviour scaling lifetime respect number spins interaction within fully quantum mechanical description.
